Courtney Pinski has had her hands in the classical and fiddle world for as long as she can remember. In high school she joined the Gilbert Town Fiddlers, and it sparked a love for fiddle music, arranging, and composition. During college, she attended multiple fiddle camps and worked with renowned fiddlers such as Hanneke Cassel, Mike Block, and Natalie McMaster, and during her summers she would teach non-classical music to young adults at StringPlay, a fiddle camp based in Gilbert. Arizona. She completed her undergraduate degree in classical performance from the University of Arizona in 2019, studying under Tim Kantor. There she found a love of chamber music, and upon graduation, had the opportunity to headline a benefit concert in Shenzhen, China in a violin-piano duo who performed classical masterpieces, pop arrangements, and traditional/self-composed fiddle tunes. Pinski also started and led the Sparkroot Quartet, an all-female string quartet made to celebrate the work of modern composers based in pop, fiddle, and jazz music.

Currently, Pinski runs her own studio of private violinists, plays gigs all around Arizona, and performs as lead violinist of the Jacob Acosta Band, who are working on their second studio album. She is planning on completing her master’s degree in 2023 and will be focusing on music administration and performing non-classical music, with plans to compose/record her own album.
